About Us

We are Kris and John McElligott, and LivingYork.com is a project that we have had rolling around in our heads for the past few years. About a year ago, we decided it was time to make LivingYork.com a reality. When we relocated here from Baltimore in 2003, it was the affordable (and beautiful) housing that drew us in, but it was the amazing community, culture, and historic legacy that has kept us here these seven years. We started our photography company, KMPhotography, in Baltimore almost a decade ago, but we never dreamed that relocating to York would more than quadruple our business clientele and revenue. Our goal with LivingYork.com is to show others the incredible business opportunities, and living experience York has to offer. The close-knit community and friends that we have made, have increased our quality of life tremendously- and we are so thankful for the growing community of “Yorkers” who care as much as we do about making York even better in the years ahead.
This is where we will start our family.

This is where our business will thrive, and help us make a difference.
We can’t imagine living anywhere else, and we want others to see York through our eyes- to see a community that cares, businesses that excel, and a city with unlimited potential.

Kris and John are the owners of the award winning KM Photography Studio and live in the city of York, Pennsylvania with their Siberian Husky, Alaskan Malamute, and fat orange tabby cat. When not shooting, John spends his time writing and recording music and building, playing, and performing instruments. Kris enjoys reading and writing and is currently working on her first children’s book. They are both active members of their church and community.
